SUMMARY

I was hired on a three month contract during the construction documentation stage of Waterloo Station. Working alongside a collaborative team at John McAslan + Partners, we shared an office with the construction team, John Holland. This allowed for optimal efficiency and interaction on a daily basis. As my second exposure to rail infrastructure and working for a global practice, this experience deepened my practical understanding of methodological processes that require pragmatic thinking in a fast paced environment.

Working around the clock with JM+P's London office, we shared resources and skillsets across the project which also promoted the development of vital communication skills, relaying and acting on live information effectively. Collaborating with this skilled team, I carried out tasks such as concrete setout plans and wall elevation drawings, penetration and service coordination, wall section details and general arrangement plans. I also worked on the amenity areas ensuring wall type changes didn't impede on compliance requirements. This was an exciting project to be a part of as I was able to actively participate in the many parts coming together to create a completed station.
