SUMMARY

The Heffron Centre is a new community and high performance centre to be built in Maroubra’s Heffron Park. The facility will support elite performance, whilst delivering a functional and efficient operating environment that allows for future operational growth and ongoing evolution of high performance environments. The facility will also provide the local and regional community access to a number of health, education and employment support programs.

A seemless balance between community and elite performance spaces was required to optimise a sense of belonging and inclusion within the community. This was achieved through a focus on transparency within the building itself as well as the relationship between internal spaces and the training field. 

Initially, I prepared presentations for stakeholder workshops and translating feedback from those sessions into return briefs and updated model information. The series of workshops involved a Design Excellence Panel, council members and the South Sydney Rabbitohs representatives as well as critical design team members. Ensuring presentations accommodated for this multi-faceted group of varying agendas was a key element to successfully progressing this process through design development and into tender documentation.

Product selection and service coordination were also major responsibilities of mine throughout design development and tender documentation. I am currently working closely with ADCO, the assigned builder and progressing the drawings set to construction documentation whilst assessing any value management iteams. I look forward to taking this project to site and seeing it's built success.
