SUMMARY

Artisan Apartments, originally designed by ARIA's in-house Architect and Interior Designer, gave me the chance to work closely with a Senior Architect developing the design further, refining design elements and details as well as reworking the spatial planning. I had the opportunity to gain experience marking up drawings and resolving design and construction concerns. Alongside an Interior Designer, I also gained insight into alternative joinery solutions and training in material and colour boards. Artisan was my first multi-residential project that incorporated a commercial ground floor activated by an organic grocer, coffee shop and boutique florist. This involved designing for effective way finding and circulation as well as materiality and the streetscape in a semi-private / public domain. With Core Architecture also overseeing the construction stage, I had the opportunity to attend site visits and later defects training.
